The National Universities Commission and Federal Ministry of Education have resolved the issues of accreditation with the Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAAUN). This followed series of meeting between MAAUN Management and the Federal Ministry of Education as well as with the NUC. In a letter dated 9th September, 2015 addressed to MAAUN President and signed by Mrs. J. N. Ibe (Director, Education Support Services) for the Ag. Permanent Secretary, the Fedral Ministry of Education stated that “the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Universities Commission (NUC) have resolved the issues surrounding the accreditation status of Maryam Abacha American University, Maradi, Niger.” Meanwhile, the President, on behalf of the Management of the Maryam Abacha American University of Niger has expressed happiness over the peaceful resolution of the university accreditation issues with the NUC. Dr. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, the President/founder of MAAUN stated this shortly after receipt of the letter confirming the resolution of the accreditation issues that the earlier disagreement between MAAUN and NUC was normal and aimed at strengthening the cordial relationship between the two. He therefore said the Management of MAAUN holds no grudges against any one. Dr. Adamu Gwarzo thanked every stake holder in the matter particularly, the NUC, Federal Ministry of Education, parents and students of MAAUN for their resilience in the final resolution of the issues. He further disclosed that with the amicable resolution of the issues involved, the Maryam Abacha American University of Niger will continue to ensure high quality standard for her students.
